I live outside of the United States. Can I enter the competition?
Yes. The competition is open to everyone that is 18 years of age and older.
Is this a general photography/illustration competition or more specific?
Xto is focused on fine art nude photography and illustration only in these categories:
Advertisement, Body Art (tattoos, body painting, etc) , Book (published or proposed- series only), Digitally Enhanced, Editorial, Erotica, Fine Art and Nature
Why are there no previous winners? Is this the first year?
Yes, this is the first year for Xto.
Is there a time limit within which the photographs should have been taken?
No, you may submit any image regardless of the date it was taken.
Can I enter one image into multiple categories?
Yes, you may enter the same image into as many categories as you want. In fact, doing so may increase your chances of winning. There is an additional $20 fee for each category.
How do I submit my work under the book category?
Entrants may upload the cover image and four inside spreads online in the series category only.
Can I edit my submissions?
Not at this time. Please email email@example.com and we can make the corrections for you. Once you leave the submission form, you must re-enter your work.
What is the judging process?
The process of selecting and rating the images will be done online. In order to get fair scores, all names associated with the image will be hidden. Each jury will score the image from 1 to 100. The highest scores will receive top prizes.
What are the exhibition details?
The gallery is located in Dumbo (Brooklyn), New York. We require that the artists send a 20x24" image matted and ready to be framed; anything bigger than that has to be framed and shipped by the artist. Once the exhibition is over, the images will be archived carefully in Xto's care or returned by artist request for a minimal fee.
What is the Xto Copyright policy & how can Xto use my images?
The organization has the right to use your submitted image for the annual exhibition if you are a winner. Xto may also use your work for marketing and promotional purposes directly related to Xto only, with the photographer's/ illustrator's approval and appropriate citation/credit. Photographer/Illustrator maintains ownership of their images and winners must provide a model release.

With an entrepreneurial spirit, two years experience working with online competitions and a passion for fine art, Nicole Dominguez created Xto. A few art industry professionals are on the Advisory Board to provide additional guidance.
